We're Problem Solvers

The Compliance Division enforces all Maryland tax laws administered by the Comptroller. So, if you forgot to file an income tax return, missed a deadline, or have a tax liability, this section can help you figure out what steps to take next.

Failing to comply with the state tax laws can land your name on the "Caught in the Web" listing, which is updated every six months with the individuals and businesses who owe the state millions of dollars in unpaid taxes, penalties and interest. Since the program's inception in 2000, the agency has collected more than $ 26.5 million in personal income, sales and use, admissions and amusement, withholding and corporate income taxes.
