File a Lien

A tax lien is filed in the circuit court where your business operates and has the effect of recording a court judgment. The lien serves as notice to your businesses other creditors that the states claim on your assets takes priority over their claims. A lien that is not promptly settled can seriously damage your businesses ability to obtain new credit accounts or maintain existing ones.
