Credit Card Payments

You can pay your Maryland income tax with a credit card, using VISA, MasterCard, American Express or Discover. This service applies to taxes owed for the current year or any back year (if you have a bill). You can make your payment online at Official Payments Corporation or over the phone by calling 1-800-2PAYTAX.

Be sure to have both your tax bill and credit card on hand. Enter Jurisdiction Code 3000 at the appropriate prompt. You may also be asked to enter:

  • the 13-digit number on your tax bill
  • Social Security number
  • phone number
  • ZIP Code

After your payment is authorized, you will be given a confirmation number that you should keep for your records.

Official Payments Corporation charges a convenience fee for processing the credit card transaction. The fee is not paid to the state of Maryland. You can calculate your convenience fee using Official Payments' convenience fee calculator.
