Claiming Your Property

Filing a Claim

If you are claiming property in the possession of the state, you must complete and sign a claim form  and forward it, together with the supporting documentation discussed below, to the Unclaimed Property Unit at the address shown on the front of the claim form.

If you found your name on the Comptroller's website, follow the directions, and provide all requested information.

If you prefer to call, you will need to provide the claim number found on the listing and the owner's name. If a search of our database results in any matches between the information you provide and data reported to us, possible ownership is indicated, and we will mail a claim form to you.
