MATT Regulatory Division

The Motor-Fuel, Alcohol and Tobacco Tax (MATT) Regulatory Division administers regulations and business licensing functions for the Comptroller's Office, to secure voluntary compliance, maximize collection of all revenues due the state, while providing equitable treatment for Maryland businesses and individuals. The division is organized into four operational sections; Security & Accounting, Administration & Systems Control, Returns Processing, and Taxpayer Services.  Each section handles Alcohol and Tobacco Tax   and Motor Fuel Tax.
