What name and federal identification number should I use on my IFTA license application?
Use your Employer Identification Number (EIN) and the exact name to which that number was assigned by the Internal Revenue Service.

If the EIN was assigned to you individually, use your full legal name.  If it was assigned to a Corporation, Limited Liability Company, official Partnership, etc., use the complete legal name of that entity.

Your EIN will be the Maryland IFTA license number.  To protect our licensees from personal identity theft, we will not use a personal identifying number (social security number) on any document required for display or presentation.  If you do not have an EIN you may apply for one online (www.irs.gov), or by calling 1-800-829-4933.
