What is an IRP account number and will I need one before I can get my IFTA decals?

The Motor Vehicle Administration issues the International Registration Plan (IRP) number when you obtain apportioned tags. Although there are some exceptions, for the most part, the same vehicles required to display IFTA decals will have to have apportioned tags and identify the states where they will be traveling on their vehicle registration card.
