What name and federal identification number should I use on my IFTA license application?
Use your Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN) and the exact name to which that number was assigned by the IRS.
If the FEIN was assigned to you individually, use your full legal name. If it was assigned to a corporation, limited liability company, official partnership, etc., use the complete legal name of that entity.
Your FEIN will be the Maryland IFTA license number. To protect our licensees from personal identity theft, we will not use a personal identifying number (such as a Social Security number) on any document required for display or presentation. If you do not have FEIN you may apply for one online by visiting the IRS Web site or by calling 1-800-829-4933. |
