Motor Fuel Tax Rates

The following motor fuel tax rates per gallon are currently in effect:

Gasoline...................................23.5¢
Special Fuel..............................24.25¢ (other than clean-burning fuel or turbine fuel)
Clean-Burning Fuel....................23.5¢
Aviation Fuel.............................7¢ (aviation gasoline and turbine fuel)

Special fuel includes diesel and any product other than gasoline that is useable as a motor fuel.

Clean-burning fuel includes natural gas, liquefied natural gas (LNG), liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), hydrogen, or any other fuel at least 85 percent of which is one or more of the following: methanol, ethanol, any other alcohol or ether.

Note: These rates are provided only for your information and are not to be used to complete your quarterly tax return. The rates do not include the necessary jurisdiction codes needed to complete your return.

When filing your quarterly motor fuel tax return you must use the rate schedule that was provided with your return. Jurisdiction codes will be provided online in the near future.
